Frequently Asked Questions
Is the widget free to use?+
Yes, completely free. No API key, no signup, no monthly fees. We just ask that you keep the 'Powered by PointsPick' attribution link in the widget.
Does the widget require a backend or server?+
No. The widget is 100% client-side JavaScript that fetches data from our static CDN. Drop the two lines of HTML anywhere — in a WordPress post, Squarespace block, or raw HTML page.
Can I pre-set a specific merchant?+
Yes. Add the data-merchant attribute with any merchant slug (e.g., data-merchant='starbucks') to pre-load results for that merchant. Visitors can still search for other merchants.
What data does the widget show?+
The widget shows the merchant's MCC code, category, and top 5 credit cards ranked by bonus rate for that merchant. All data is sourced from the PointsPick database.
Can I customize the widget appearance?+
The widget inherits your page's font-family and uses neutral colors that fit most designs. You can add custom CSS by targeting the #pointspick-widget container. Contact us for white-label or custom-branded versions.
